• Three races on China GT Championship weekend bill
  • Crucial weekend for title bidders Lu and Yu
  • Renewed ambitions for Esmaeili and Cabrera

Shanghai, 25th July 2017 – Absolute Racing’s James Yu, Manuel Cabrera, Arvin Esmaeili and Daniel Lu have their sights set on further success as the Formula Master Asian Series stays in South China for rounds 12, 13 and 14 at the Zhuhai circuit this weekend (29/30 July).
The team is oozing with confidence after considerable strides forward were made with a three-day testing session at the Zhuhai circuit last week.

Daniel Lu has been the absolute master of this year’s series, winning races in dominant fashion in front of the team’s home crowd at Sepang and Zhuhai. With 141 points Lu is leading the championship standings with a good eighteen-point lead.

Zhuhai was not particularly generous with James Yu last time. The Chinese racer is aiming to get back on podium form after a difficult round on the wet. Yu is now third in the championship standings with 99 points.

The Singaporean born Swedish rookie is hoping to keep his winning form alive, as he stood atop the podium for the very first time in the last encounter, at the end of one of the most incredible and unpredictable races of all times. Esmaeili is fifth with 76 points.

Series debutant Manuel Cabrera lies in eighth in the standings on 37-points, but the Mexican racer has been improving ever with each race and will be at his best as it all comes down to the final two events.

The race weekend will commence on Thursday 27th July with two 60-minute test sessions. Friday morning will feature the official free practice and two qualifying sessions for the Absolute Racing team while Saturday afternoon will host the race one and race two of the weekend. The remaining race will be held on Sunday morning.
