Absolute Racing is determined to make its mark in the inaugural season of the F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA that kicks off this weekend at Sepang International Circuit with Malaysia’s Akash Nandy and USA’s Jaden Conwright at the helm.

The team took delivery of two brand new Tatuus F.3 T-318 just ahead of this weekend’s round. It was all planned out. At the team’s HQ in Malaysia, Absolute Racing technicians worked at full throttle to get all the parts and pieces together, assembling the Autotecnica Motori Alfa Romeo-powered cars, getting it ready for the official pre-season test sessions on Monday and Tuesday which has taken place at Sepang International Circuit.

In anticipation of the weekend, Nandy and Conwright have been on top form during testing with both drivers showing their intentions clear with strong pace throughout. The team now look to put this into practice this weekend and the young duo face the first race weekend of 2018 with enthusiasm and desire.

Akash Nandy said of the upcoming weekend, “It’s been productive days of testing, mostly focusing on getting used to this new car and the way it works. I also had to change my driving style after spending two years away from single seaters, so focusing on myself was key. It’s good to see that we are competitive which proves that we have been working in the right direction.”

Teammate Conwright added, “We spent these days to learn the car and see how it behaves in different weather conditions. I will be heading into the race weekend aiming for as strong result, but not expecting it. The championship is very strong and very close, so staying focused and always looking for ways to improve will be the best approach to find the results.”

Team Director, Ingo Matter said, “A new car always brings extra motivation. The team has been working at full throttle to get the cars ready for this week’s testing; which has been really productive in terms of the programmes we wanted to get through. We feel pretty well prepared for this new challenge. We’ve been able to get two high quality drivers onboard for the new season and they have shown solid pace on track. It will be interesting to see where we stand this weekend.”
