- Bentley Continental GT3 to debut in the Blancpain Asian series
- New challenge for Tan and Kim
- Fong and Vutthikorn reunited once again
Shanghai, September 13th, 2017 – Bentley Team Absolute has confirmed that it will field two Bentley Continental GT3s for Blancpain GT Series Asia’s upcoming round at Shanghai International Circuit on September 23rd/24th.
The Shanghai-based team will enter the two cars which were seen racing in the China GT Championship earlier this season, with Hong Kong’s Adderly Fong teaming up with Thailand’s Vutthikorn Inthrapuvasak in the #20 Continental GT3. Malaysia’s Weiron Tan will race alongside Korea’s Andrew Kim in the #30 entry.
Founded back in 2010, Absolute Racing has successfully developed into one of Asia’s leading motorsports organizations and actively competes in well-known racing series within Asia and the United States. The team is the sole motorsports organization managing Bentley’s Customer Racing in Asia and the United States.
Absolute Racing serviced teams have been a regular presence on the Blancpain GT Series Asia podium this season but this will be the first time that the impressively built and maintained Bentley Continental GT3 racecars join the most competitive GT series in the region.
Speaking about the challenge ahead, Team Director Fabien Fior said, “We’re really happy to join the Blancpain GT Series Asia with our Bentley armada at Shanghai. We do not have any expectations on our shoulders but with high-competitive equipment, our team of specialized technicians and racing on a high-speed circuit that suits the Bentley Continental GT3, our drivers have all the necessary tools to succeed. Weiron and Andrew and Adderly and Vutthi will also be full of confidence after impressive performances on this year’s China GT Championship, and from our point of view there is plenty of room for optimism as we go into what is going to be another highly competitive racing weekend.”
