With all motorsport eyes on the starting grid in Shanghai, Alexandre Imperatori executed his own flawless coup to sweep the Porsche Carerra Cup ticket for the entire weekend. With two cars fielded by Absolute Racing under the Team Starchase banners, the number 99 of Alexandre and #98 of H Tung from Budweiser Team Starchase attacked the track in Shanghai, taking no prisoners. With Alex winning by 7.7 seconds in race 1 yesterday afternoon, he came back to establish a 4.3 second lead over last year’s champion Keita Sawa and steal the checkered flag.
The field during race 2 experienced a number of cars not managing to finish, with five cars failing to make it through the 12 laps, including third place finisher Allan Simonsen from race 1.
Not content with taking pole, the checkered flag in race 1 and race 2 of the Porsche Carerra Cup Asia 2012, Alexandre also took the fastest lap of the race at 2.09. This was a weekend to celebrate for Absolute Racing and Alexandre Imperatori. The rest of the season promises to be a thriller.
