After storming through the field during practice, Jeffrey Lee took a slightly disappointing fifth slot overall and fourth in class on the starting grid for today’s first race in the GT Asia series on the Sepang track in Malaysia. “The field is strong for this series, and some minor technical issues pushed us a few seconds off the pace” said Fabien Fior, team director of Absolute Racing. “Everything is in tip-top shape for the race this afternoon”.

Traditionally rain soaked during the afternoon sessions, the weather in Sepang is north of blistering. Preceding the F1 Qualifying session at 4:00pm local time, the GT Asia grid is hoping the weather comes and goes so a dry track allows all the cars to show off to their best potential. Joined on the grid by Philip MA in the #98 car and Francis Onda, all three cars sport new stylish livery. Occupying 5th, 11th and 15th on the grid, this afternoon’s race is chance to carve through the field of 40 cars and secure an opening grid position for tomorrow’s race.
