Absolute Racing F3 squad

The Absolute Racing Formula 3 operation is back in action this weekend for the third round of the 2018 F3 Asian Championship Certified by FIA at the Shanghai International Circuit.

Heading to its local circuit as the series reaches its halfway point, the Absolute Racing squad is hoping home-advantage plays a part in the weekend’s proceedings in front of a home crowd on the iconic Chinese circuit.

American Jaden Conwright will be starting the weekend with the second place in standings after experiencing a positive weekend last time around in Ningbo, while Akash Nandy is looking forward to exploiting his full potential and making gains from the fourth position.

The Ningbo weekend’s results have helped Absolute Racing to close the gap to the team in front in the Teams Championship.

Absolute Racing-run Emc2 Racing entry impressed on championship debut at Ningbo. China’s Liu Zexuan collected one win and two second-place finishes in the Masters Class and is determined to continue a positive path this weekend at Shanghai.

All three races will be live-streamed on the official website (www.f3asia.com).

Team Quotes

#29 Akash Nandy: “I’m looking forward to keeping all this momentum from the last round heading into Shanghai. We’ve had a couple of productive days of testing prior to the race, but there’s definitely a lot that we’ll be learning during the race weekend. We’re back to a fast and technical F1 circuit, so it’ll be a different beast all together when compared to Ningbo. The weekend is going to be difficult like any race weekend, but all I need to focus on is doing my best as the driver and the rest will come naturally.”

#80 Jaden Conwright:  “I’m super excited to get back to racing after a two-week break. In Ningbo, we showed some very competitive speed in terms of pace and I’m looking forward to turning that into a very strong result. Now coming back to a very traditional fast circuit, it’s going to a lot more difficult as I expect everyone to be a lot closer in terms of pace. I believe that the team and I have what it takes to make the most of this coming race weekend!”

Ingo Matter (Team Director): “Shanghai is our home race and we want to do well. We arrive in Shanghai very motivated following a very satisfying race win at Ningbo. Now we want to take this momentum and finish the season strongly; we are highly motivated to continue our run of podiums. This is a very difficult track with a lot of long corners, especially the first sector which is not easy. But drivers like this challenge. Our drivers know the track from previous experiences and the team is prepared for the weekend ahead.”
