Kuala Lumpur, May 2nd, 2017 – Singha Plan-B Motorsport have partnered up with Absolute Racing for the 2017 season, with one GT3 entry planned in the opening round of Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup under the Singha Plan-B Motorsport banner.
2016 GT Asia Series GTC Class Champions Bhurit Bhirombhakdi and Kantasak Kusiri will team up to drive a brand new Audi R8 LMS at the Sepang International Circuit.
Both drivers have a vast experience in racing in Thailand and abroad. Bhurit Bhirombhakdi is no stranger to the team, having competed in the Audi R8 LMS Cup last year at Buriram, Thailand. Kantasak Kusiri has been a Thailand Super Series top-contender and a race winner in Ferrari Challenge Asia-Pacific.
Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup features a race format designed to give a real opportunity for teams and drivers to sample mixed class Prototype and GT racing, and to prepare the Asian Le Mans Series. Both races last 60 minutes and will have a mandatory pit stop/driver change.
Team Director, Fabien Fior said, “We’re pleased to partner up with Singha Plan-B Motorsport for this race. We have two motivated drivers with important experiences under their belt. We are sure they will answer the bell right from the start. This is going to be our first participation in the Asian Le Mans Sprint Cup but the whole team is pretty confident. We’ve made some big steps forward over the winter and we were the fastest of the Audi teams in the Blancpain GT Asia Series race last month here at Sepang”.
